Wasim Akram, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, revealed in his biography "Sultan A Memoir" that he started using cocaine after his retirement from cricket.
Wasim Akram has revealed that he was first offered cocaine at a party in England. The habit became severe.
He further said that at one time I felt that I needed it to work, because of the addiction I became a victim of loneliness, because of the excess of addiction, my condition became unstable, I could not sleep. I did not eat, my Begum Huma helped me to get rid of my addiction.
The former captain said in his biography that he had to enter a rehab center to get rid of addiction, he even thought of divorcing his wife once, and his cocaine habit since his wife's sudden death in 2009. Quit, never looked back on cocaine use since then, been a diabetic for the last 25 years, it wasn't easy to come up with it all.
